For the first time in state history, the MTA will be offering free transit on its core services - bus, Metro subway, Light Rail, and Mobility - on Tuesday, Nov. 5 in an "effort to eliminate transportation barriers that may prevent voters from getting to the polls."
Free transit rides will be available on Maryland Transit Administration core service including Local Bus (CityLink, LocalLink and Express BusLink), Metro Subway, Light Rail and the Mobility paratransit system.
Polls in Maryland will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
“Every citizen who wants to exercise their fundamental right to vote should have easy access to the polls,” Maryland Transit Administrator Holly Arnold said.
“This Election Day, for the first time, the Maryland Transit Administration is proud to offer free rides to help make the voting process more accessible for everyone.”
